Joanna Noëlle Levesque (born December 20, 1990 in Brattleboro, VT) , known professionally as JoJo, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Raised in Foxborough, Massachusetts, she began performing in singing competitions and local talent shows from a young age. In 2003, record producer Vincent Herbert noticed her after she competed on the television show America's Most Talented Kids and asked her to audition for his record label Blackground Records. Having signed with them that same year, JoJo released her eponymous debut studio album the following year in June 2004. It peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), selling over four million copies worldwide to date.

Jojo was also a project of Austrian guitarist Robby Musenbichler, founded in 1986. This ensemble released their eponymous album in 1988. It was the only album this formation put out. The formation disbanded in 1989.

More recently, JOJO is the new name that former greek emo-rapper Yungnsad has switched to, in order to signify a change in his sound leaning towards an alternative form of R&B.

JoJo, real name : Joanne Kemp is a U.K. R'n'B singer who was signed to Urbanstar records in 2000 and debuted at 16 with the single Talkin' About Ya. It was released on Vinyl in the U.K and Japan but was released as a single on CD in Australia by Hardwax, a sub-label of the most predominant dance label in Australia Central Station, featuring on their most popular Dance compilation Series Various - Wild Volume 14. The predominant version was the remix by Rishi Rich but the track failed to make any significant noise on the radio or charts, even with some airplay. She completed an album released by Japanese Label Brownsugar Records which featured writing and production by labelmate Elisha La'Verne and Steven Sherin. Her next singles were Tonite and Best Friend, which both failed to gain decent club play and after the next single People Hold On further failed to make any waves in clubs, as a DJ only promo, Urbanstar made a last ditch attempt to gain her more exposure, putting out Sweet Honey Love on multiple compilations in 2002 as her career was coming to an end and the Label recorded no new music with her.

Spearheading the new wave of UK hard trance producers, Marcos aka Mark Dearden has literally exploded on to the scene over the last two years. At only 21 he has produced a staggering number of high quality anthems! Working closely with Jay K Walker for a number of years it was inevitable the two would eventually produce a track together. In April 2003 they released 'NIGHTFINDER' EP. Mark's career to date has charted a meteoric rise from bedroom producer to highly respected craftsmen of techie driving anthems. The next logical step is to build Mark's career as a DJ and performing artist. Already a talented DJ (if not sorely under exposed) and an ever increasing international interest directed at his record company for bookings with a little more exposure Mark has the potential to become one of the trance scene's biggest stars.

Mark's sound is fresh and energetic. His style ranges from blistering hard trance to full on epic trance anthems. Operating under a number of alias's Mark is a diverse producer that manages to effortlessly switch form one style to the next. As EUPHIONIC Mark concentrates on the more mainstream euphoric edge to his sound and has produced a number of vocal projects with Lisa Abbot. His MUZIKMAN releases are an outlet for his more experimental projects. While as MARCOS he produces tracks for techie harder end of the trance spectrum. He has proven himself as capable of crafting commercial edged trance anthems as he banging out twisted hard stompers.

His other aliaeses include Alharma, Dacora, Eastern Star, Euphonic, Lunar, Mark Dearden, Musikman, NR:32, Opal Fruits, Salco, Sunfire, Tribal Tech.

The band is a part of the Online Bands Music label and thier home page can be found at http://www.onlinebands.com/earthbound.

4) Earthbound is also a stone/desert rock group from Greece featuring 2 members of the Last Drive (a garage group from the 80s and early 90s) and the drummer/singer of Rockin' Bones.

5) Earthbound is also the duo of Jade Ariana and Angel Castellon, who make noise and experimental electronic music. Self-described as Afro-Latina avant-garde noise darlings based in Oakland, CA.

It may also be an incorrect artist tag for some video game soundtracks. The correct name for the artists is Keiichi Suzuki, Hirokazu Tanaka, and Hiroshi Kanazu. Please do yourself and Last.fm a favour and fix your tags by putting the actual artist name in the artist field. The easiest way is to use MusicBrainz Picard.

Continuing from 1:

Earthbound was formed in 1994 by Anders Eriksson, Fredrik Johansson and Carl-Oskar Andreasson. After the first EP "Hypocondric Lovesick EP" in 1996, Andreasson left the group.

In 1997, Earthbound released a single called "Heartbeat" and in early 1998 they released "Everyone" that became a radio hit in Sweden.

But it was with "Essence of Life" in 1999 that the real breakthrough came. The track was remixed by Skynet UK and John "00" Fleming and was also released in England by Eve Records.

Later in 1999, the release of "One Nation - Trance Nation" became Earthbound's greatest success. The single was then followed by the double-disc album, also called "Earthbound". This album was also nominated for a Swedish "Grammis" Award under the category "Best Modern Dance".

http://www.earthbound.nu/

2) EarthBound formed in 2012 and released their debut album "The Tales Of EarthBound" in March 2013. Castellon was raised in Berkeley and Oakland; Ariana is from Inglewood. Both are queer femmes who listened to punk growing up. They're also both painters and performance artists. And their shared passion for social justice and indigenous spiritual practices — such as the Nigerian Yoruba faith and Latin American Santería — brought them even closer."

Martinelli is a duo from Italy, Aldo Martinelli and Simona Zanini and was very famous during the '80s for their italo-disco productions. They are the real people behind the italo-disco groups of Moonray, Topo and Roby and Doctor's Cat.
Aldo Martinelli was born in Milan, he received a diploma in piano at the Conservatorio of Alessandria.
He played keyboards live in big bands and worked as a music teacher in school.
A composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, who performs as a keyboardist and a guitarist, he soon sought to arrange and produce his own music. At the beginning of the eighties he acheived a series of important successes in the record world, starting from "Take a chance" (Bizzy & co.), theme for the popular prime time TV show "Premiatissima (82/83).
Simona Zanini is an Italo-American singer, was born in the United States and moved to Italy with her family as a child in the 70s. In her late teens, after being chosen during a national casting directed by the La Bionda Brothers, she was signed by CBS Records and worked with the most important Italian musicians of that time.

In 1983, looking for an English mother tongue artist to sing and write lyrics for his songs Aldo met Simona and they worked together on the Doctor's Cat "Feel the Drive": her vocal talent, together with the fact her mother tongue was English, made her singing credible for export. His attention towards melody and his care for vocal and instrumental harmonies immediately satisfied the craving of dance music fans in Europe and signed a milestone in what would be called the Italo Disco music. Sure enough that first song led way to a successful series of dance music productions in which Simona was the lyricist and lead vocal, and Aldo was the player of all instruments and arrangements, often male vocalist and the co-producer. Shortly they climbed the charts in Europe. To be able to support multiple releases of the prolific team in a relatively short period of time, the recordings were released under different stage names - but always with the same female lead voice and the same instrumental performer. For this reason several models were hired for television appearances and playback in disco or music shows. Among the stage names: Doctor's Cat, the duo Martinelli, Topo & Roby and Moon Ray, with the worldwide hit "Comanchero".
Within five years, since 1983, they show at the top of the charts in France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland with many of these different names at the same time, earning gold records in all these countries.
The success of their hits induced other producers to seek cooperation from them: the first Radiorama hit, "Chance to Desire" was written by the duo and sung by Simona.

Simona continues to write and sing for Radiorama for a few more songs and also writes for other artists, the most successful being "The Legend" album of Valerie Dore, (lyrics, vocals and production), released by EMI. In 1987 she continues to work behind the scenes, she puts up a small production & music publishing company and a recording studio, coproducing young Italian pop music for the Sanremo Festival and goes back to singing live, in local clubs also performing in other genres, rock and west coast.
In the years 2000 she experiences the marketing and trading side of the music business, managing a music import company.

During the next years Aldo followed the promotion of his Italo Disco hits in many TV shows such as "Discoring" , "Superclassifica Show", "Festivalbar" (the national hit parade TV reviews), Raffaella Carrà and many TV shows in France and Germany.
Throughout his music career, Aldo never abandons teaching music and as a matter of fact he is working on an innovative text book for Music Education in school.

The experience gathered by both of them in various fields of music production during the years and the affection of DJs and fans of the 80's Italo-disco music, who know the name of those who were behind the various stage names, have led them to return to the genre and work together on new music, this time performing in person on stage.

There are at least four different bands with the name Riviera.
One from Germany, one from the United States, one from Australia and one from Italy.

1) Riviera (USA) was founded in the thriving Chicago music scene in 2000. Through personnel changes and musical shifts, the band has created a sound that is grounded in American folk and rock with electronic overtones and feedback.

Riviera’s musical palette contains shades of artists you already love (Neil Young, Rolling Stones, George Harrison) blended together with colors unique to each of the band’s three singer-songwriters.

Singer-songwriter Derek Phillips formed the band in an attempt to bring together the elements of American music that had grabbed his attention over the years. His lyrics paint colors rather than shapes in your mind and leave you with feelings that creep up on you days later.Lead guitarist Mick Radichel writes songs with a decidedly southern flair, though he hails from Milwaukee. Wide varieties of playing styles from Keith Richards to Smokey Hormel to Jim O’Rourke provide the bones to the songs.

Josh Boisvert has a repertoire of material reminiscent of the lonesome troubadour. His piano and organ playing and harmonizing vocals round out the band’s sound. Bassist Matt Usner brings folk sensibilities and quiet anchoring, while drummer Joshua Rogers lends the foundation with solid rhythm and unexpected flair.

2) Riviera (Europe/USA/Japan)
Lounge retro 60ies pop group founded by the german siblings Julia and Roland Wolff. It is mainly a brother/ sister studio project in which Julia and Roland play all the instruments on their own compositions.
From 2001 on Riviera successfully released six CDs in Japan (Philter/Sony) and South Korea (Chilimusic/t-entertainment).
Artists such as Fantastic Plastic Machine, Konichi Yasuharu of Pizzicato 5 or Shuya Okino remixed their works.
Their songs have been used in various TV-commercials for LG Telecom, KIA and others in Asia.

3) Riviera (AUS) a rock/screamo band from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Little known outside of Brisbane, but known but many local bands and a few of the nations bigger bands. Supporting bands as Behind Crimson Eyes and more.

4) Riviera (ITA) is a punk/emo band from Romagna http://megariviera.bandcamp.com

5) Hardcore punk band from Oulu, Finland https://rivierahardcore.bandcamp.com/

Having already crafted a handful of jet-propelled bangers which have won over fans and followers including Skream, Toddla T, Jack Beats, A Trak, Mark Ronson, Zinc and Annie Mac.

Pescod started out in the early 2000s with a series of Drum & Bass releases under the moniker of DJ Clipz.

Marta Marrero (born May 18, 1969 in Whittier, California, USA), better known as Martika, is a Cuban-American pop singer. As a child she dabbled in acting making her film debut as one of the dancing orphans in the film version of "Annie". As a teen she would star as 'Gloria' on the syndicated children's variety show 'Kids Incorporated'. After outgrowing her role, Martika would turn her focus towards her first love, music.

Hooking up w/ producer Michael Jay, Martika landed a deal with Columbia Records. Martika's self-titled debut album was released in the fall of 1988. But it wasn't until 1989 that she broke through in a big way. By January her debut single "More Than You Know" was a US Top 20 smash. Her second single, a haunting ballad about addiction, entitled "Toy Soldiers" spent 2 weeks at #1 in the US during the summer of 1989. Up next was a dance/rock version of the Carole King classic "I Feel The Earth Move" which would eventually score Martika her 3rd Top 40 US hit. This song as well as her previous singles also became huge hits all over the world by charting high in the UK, Australia, Japan and Spain just to name a few. A fourth single was released in Europe and Australia entitled "Water".

After the success of her debut, her label compiled a 4 song EP of Spanish language versions of 3 of her hits ("Water" was included as well but in it's bilingual original state). It was during this time that Martika would perform throughout many Spanish speaking countries, and was heavily promoted to the US Latino market.

During the fall of 1990, Martika returned briefly to acting playing Dahlia Mendez on the CBS drama "Wiseguy". Playing a sultry nightclub singer & girlfriend to the then new lead Steven Bauer, Martika turned heads w/ her sexy outfits & latin jazz standards sprinkled throughout the show. Much like her character's untimely death, the show also was cancelled after failing to catch on with viewers. Luckily for Martika all 4 of her episodes aired.

Martika followed up her debut (which eventually went gold in the US) with 1991's "Martika's Kitchen". Led by the first single, "Love…Thy Will Be Done", a prayer that Martika had written which would later be turned into a song by Prince, Martika would find herself once again on the charts. The song peaked at #10 in the US and was a #1 hit in Australia. Unfortunately a sophmore slump of sorts took its toll on what could have been a huge hit album. The 2nd single, a funky Prince penned and produced tune, failed to set the charts on fire and stalled at #98 in the US. However it did fare better in Europe making it all the way to #1 in Spain. A third single, the C+C Music Factory produced "Coloured Kisses", failed to chart in the US but was a modest hit internationally. Two more singles would see the light of day in Europe, a club only release of yet another Prince produced track "Spirit" made the rounds as did a 4th single "Safe In The Arms Of Love".

It was during 1992 that Martika would walk away from her music career. After a headlining stint at the Expo Sevilla in Sevilla, Spain, Martika walked off the stage and began a long hiatus from music. Rumors of her whereabouts would range from the weird to plain ridiculous.

During this time Martika wrote songs for several artists (Maria Nyler, Tevin Campbell, etc.) as well as lending her voice to several projects (C+C Music Factory's "Música es mi vida" and the Conga Club's "The Happy Song" to name a few). But it was not until 1999 that Martika would come out of musical obscurity by launching a website (the new defunct martika.net) and talk of a new album brought many fans out of the woodwork so to say. At this time several demos leaked on the internet and she even went as far as to release an internet only single "The Journey" available exclusively on mp3.com.

This brief return sort of came and went and it wasn't until the beginning of this decade that Martika would again return. This time as 1/2 of the musical duo Oppera. Along with her musical partner (and husband) Michael Mozart, the duo released their internet only debut "Violince". Since they have released a self-titled follow-up, opened for Pat Benatar.

In 2010 Martika, under the name Vida Edit, starred in the internet series J8DED along w/ her hubby Michael Daemon. The show is currently on hiatus.

Martika is currently working on her first solo album in 20 years. It will see her return to her dance/pop roots. Expect a fall 2011 release.

Also of note rapper Eminem sampled Martika's "Toy Soldiers" in his 2004 hit "Like Toy Soldiers", thus resparking some interest in this often ignored pop star. To boot, in 2007 British shoegaze/alternative rock band My Vitriol covered the song for their A Pyrrhic Victory EP.

AlunaGeorge are an English electronic music duo from London, consisting of Aluna Francis (vocals and songwriting) and George Reid (production and instrumentation). The duo first met in June 2009, when Reid remixed Francis' band My Toys Like Me's track "Sweetheart".

A lot of bands meet as kids at school. Others come together after an over-enthusiastic conversation about music at some random party. Aluna Francis and George Reid however, met through the internet.

While their online encounter is more MySpace than Match.com, it was in fact through a mutual respect for each other's work that led them to go on to form AlunaGeorge. Now together for just barely a year, the talented duo have been churning out a series of infectious mixes which fuse Francis' sweet vocal harmonies with the hushed electronic stylings courtesy of Reid.

Having already caught the attention of Rob da Bank who championed their initial collaboration Sweetheart on Radio 1; they've since succeeded in initially tapping the American market having had a track featured in the US series of Skins earlier this year. Now this month sees the release of their debut AA single Analyser/ We Are Chosen, two impressively mastered melodies of sensual synths complemented by Francis' contagious vocals which evoke notions of the likes of Shanks and Bigfoot, yet at the same time remain utterly unique.
